Find support with peer coaching program
Posted almost 4 years ago in Parent and Family NewsStudent Success.

Managing anxiety and college life does not have to be done alone. UAB Wellness Promotion offers students peer coaching for those in need.

Peer coaching provides support for students looking for help with mental health issues. Coaches help with issues ranging from general stress, relationship issues, difficulties with classes to other problems. Peer coaches supply students with assistance, information and resources for any troubles.

Each peer coach is a UAB student who has been trained through a semester-long course and selected to assist fellow students. These coaches work with students in 30-minute, private meetings. Coaches conduct their appointments at the Promoters Of Wellness (POW) Office Suite, found at 1714 Ninth Ave. South, Student Health and Wellness Center Room 385.

For more information, and to schedule an appointment, visit uab.edu/POW.
